About National Museum
The National Museum in Poznan, Poland, abbreviated MNP, is a state-possessed social establishment and one of the biggest exhibition halls in Poland. It houses a rich accumulation of Polish painting from the sixteenth century on, and a gathering of outside painting (Italian, Spanish, Dutch and German). The historical centre is additionally home to numismatic accumulations and a display of connected expressions.
The National Museum in Poznan was set up in 1857, as the "Exhibition hall of Polish and Slavic Antiquities". In 1894 the historical centre was renamed Provincial Museum of Posen. In 1902, the exhibition hall was renamed Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum. The present building was composed via Carl Hinckeldyen and inherent 1904. Historical centre’s accumulations are in plain view in seven topical display exhibitions that investigate the significant patterns and trains of the age: the Gallery of Antiquity, the Middle Ages, Polish Art from the sixteenth to eighteenth century, and, in the new wing, the Gallery of Polish craftsmanship from the time of outside allotments until the finish of World War II, the Gallery of European Art (or Foreign Painting), the Gallery of Modern Art, and the Poster and Graphic outline Gallery.
