About Lebork
Lebork is a town of 37,000 humans at the Leba and Okalica rivers inside the Gdansk Pomerania location in northwestern Poland. Lebork is also the capital of Lebork County in Pomeranian Voivodeship since 1999, formerly the Slupsk Voivodeship and Gdansk Voivodeship. The city turned into founded on the site of a previous Polish settlement named Lebno, later Germanised to Lewin after which Lewinburg by using the invading Teutonic Knights. In 1341, Dietrich von Altenburg, Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights, granted 100 Hufen to Rutcher von Emmerich for the muse of a city named Lewinburg with Kulm rights, probably to comfortable the territory round Stolp.
East of the authentic town the Teutonic Order completed the Ordensburg citadel in 1363. The fortress become partially razed after the 1410 Battle of Grunwald in 1410. In 1440 the metropolis joined the Prussian Confederation. The populace of Lauenburg become composed in massive part of Kashubians, later Slovincians. In 1454 after the outbreak of the 13 Years' War, troops from Danzig occupied Lauenburg and Butow; the following year they have been turned over to Eric II, Duke of Pomerania, to shape an alliance.
