In the years 1975-1998 the town officials had a place in the Katowice territory. As per information from December 31, 2004, the town has 7,242 occupants. Amid World War II, German occupiers changed the name to Lazy at that point to Lasern without an administrative pronouncement.
Łazy has a place in the area of Lesser Poland, and since its establishment until the Partitions of Poland, it was a piece of Krakow Voivodeship.In the Middle Ages, in the territory of the present Łazy were five settlements: Grabowa, Niegowonice, Wiesiolka, Wysoka, and Ciagowice.The region of Łazy was seized by Prussia, as a major aspect of the territory of New Silesia.
