About Ksiaz Castle
Ksiaz castle is the biggest fort inside the Silesia location, placed in northern Walbrzych in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. It lies inside Ksiaz Landscape Park, a protected area placed in the Walbrzyski Foothills. The fortress overlooks the gorge of the Pelcznica river and is one of the Walbrzych's major vacationer points of interest. A first fortification at the site changed into destroyed by using the Bohemian forces of King Ottokar II in 1263. The Silesian duke Bolko I the Strict, ruler in Swidnica and Jawor, had a brand new citadel built from 1288 to 1292 and took his house here, adding Lord of Ksiaz to his titles.
The burgraviate blanketed the neighbouring settlements of Swiebodzice, Szczawno, and Pelcznica. When the ultimate Swidnica duke Bolko II the Small died in 1368 without kids, the castle's estates surpassed to the Luxembourg king Wenceslaus IV of Bohemia, the son of Bolko's niece Anne, at the same time as his widow Agnes of Habsburg reserved the usufruct for herself. After her loss of life inside the year 1392, King Wenceslaus, also King of the Romans considering the fact that 1376, seized the Duchy of Swidnica and acquired Ksiaz Castle.
