About Krzywy Domek
Krzywy Domek is an unusually formed constructing in Sopot, Poland. Krzywy Domek was constructed in 2004. It is about 4,000 square meters in length and is part of the Rezydent buying middle. It become designed through Szotynscy & Zaleski, who have been inspired by means of the fairytale illustrations and drawings of Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg. It may be entered from either Monte Cassino or Morska Streets. Jan Marcin Szancer become a Polish illustrator, scenographer and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Born into a Jewish own family in Krakow.
He studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, and later in France and Italy. He turned into a friend of Jan Brzechwa lots of whose poems he illustrated. Szancer illustrated over 200 books, which includes Henryk Sienkiewicz's Trilogy, Adam Mickiewicz's Pan Tadeusz and Brzechwa's Pan Kleks collection. Beginning in May 1945, he became the editor and cowl-illustrator of the children's magazine Swierszczyk. He became the first creative director for Telewizja Polska, the Polish broadcasting business enterprise. The "Crooked House of Sopot" is based on considered one of his drawings.
