About Krzeszowice
Krzeszowice is a metropolis in southern Poland, located inside the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. As of 2004, its population changed into 9,993. Krzeszowice belongs to Krakow Metropolitan Area, and lies 25 kilometers west of the center of the town of Krakow. The city has a rail station, on a prime route from Krakow to Katowice, and lies along National Road Nr. 79, which is going from Warsaw to Bytom. In 1928 to 1966 the city had the reputation of a spa. Krzeszowice has a sports club known as Swit, based in 1923. Krzeszowice is located in southern part of the Krakow Czestochowa Upland, with numerous caves and valleys in the vicinity.
In 1981, when the Complex of Jura Landscape Parks was created, 3 parks from the gmina of Krzeszowice had been brought to it Rudnia Landscape Park, Tenczynek Landscape Park and Krakow Valleys Landscape Park. First mention of Krzeszowice comes from 1286, whilst Bishop of Krakow, Pawel z Przemankowa, allowed a person named Fryczek Freton to discover the village of Cressouicy. By 1337, Krzeszowice already had a wood church of St. Martin. In the mid fifteenth century, it had a college and a public house.
