Imperial Castle

The Imperial Castle in Poznan, famously called Zamek, is a royal residence in Poznan, in Poland. It was built under the German govern in 1910 by Franz Schwechten for William II, German Emperor, with noteworthy contribution from William himself. Since its fruition, the building has housed government workplaces of Germany and Poland. The name of this structure is deluding, as the building is a royal residence instead of a palace.

The mansion was worked in Neo-Romanesque style, considered by William to be the most "Germanic" and speaking to the grandness of the Holy Roman Empire. The new habitation was planned to mirror the control over Greater Poland by the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire. The principle building situated in the southern piece of the complex has two wings: the western — the bigger one — comprising of lofts, and the eastern with delegate rooms. On the ground floor of the western wing were rooms of the Court Marshal, Chamberlain and different individuals from royal court.

On the main floor were the flats of the Emperor and his significant other. A private house of prayer in a Byzantine style (venture of August Oetken) was situated in a pinnacle. Under the house of prayer, on the western side of the pinnacle was the passageway held for the sovereign. From the passage, stairs lead straight to the principal floor. The northern piece of the complex, from Berlin Street (now Fredry Street), comprised of administration rooms, carport, stable and mentor house.
