About Gubin
Gubin is a metropolis in Krosno Odrzanskie County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in southwestern Poland. It is the executive seat of the rural Gmina Gubin, even though not part of it. Gubin is located on the proper financial institution of the Lusatia Neisse River, on the border with Germany. The rail and avenue border crossings are connected with the German city of Guben, of which Gubin was the central and eastern part till the department of the metropolis by way of the Oder Neisse line in 1945. Prior to 1945, Gubin became part of the historic city of Guben, which belonged to the Prussian Province of Brandenburg inside the German Reich.
When after World War II the Oder Neisse line was chosen as the brand new German Polish border at the Potsdam Conference, Guben became cut up among the two countries. The eastern portion of the devastated town, together with the historic centre, has become Polish Gubin, from which its last pre battle German population becomes expelled. They had been replaced by Polish settlers from territories east of the Curzon Line. The vintage metropolis of Gubin turned into seriously broken in the wake of the Soviet Vistula Oder Offensive over the past stage of the battle, with the ancient metropolis corridor and church being burnt out.
