About Gostynin
Gostynin is a metropolis in Central Poland with 19,414 inhabitants. It is situated inside the Masovian Voivodship due to the fact 1999 and was previously within the Plock Voivodship from 1975 to 1998. It is the capital of Gostynin County. Gostynin has extended and rich records, which dates again to the early center Ages. In the 6th century, a Slavic gord existed north of present day metropolis, on a hill placed at the left bank of the Skrwa Lewa River, along a merchant path. In the 12th century, the settlement located itself close to the border among the provinces of Mazovia and Kujawy.
In 1240, Gostynin became elevated by means of Duke Conrad I of Masovia, and in the 1280s, Duke Boleslaw II and Duke Conrad II fought over manager of the agreement. As a result, in 1286 it became burned by means of Conrad II. Quickly rebuilt, in 1300 Gostynin become besieged but now not captured via forces of Wenceslaus II of Bohemia. In 1326, the gord changed into besieged with the aid of Wladyslaw I the Elbow excessive, who desired to govern the location of Plock, which turned into a Bohemian fief.
