About Gorlice
Gorlice is a metropolis and a city municipality gmina in south eastern Poland with around 29,500 populations. It is located south east of Krakow and south of Tarnow among Jaslo and Nowy Sacz inside the Lesser Poland Voivodeship previously in Nowy Sacz Voivodeship 1975 to 1998. It is the capital of Gorlice County. Gorlice was based throughout the reign of Casmir the Great in 1354. In that year, the Stolnik of Sandomierz, Derslaw Karajan, received royal permission to found a city in a densely forested region of the Carpathian foothills.
The existence of the town is cited in sources from 1388, 1404 and 1417. In the 15th century, Gorlice remained on public property of the Karajan family. The metropolis speedy advanced, becoming a nearby center of crafts and alternate. In 1504, Jan Karajan received royal permission for 2 fairs annually and a weekly market. In the duration called Polish Golden Age, Gorlice prospered. Its artisans and traders had contacts not best with different Polish cities, but additionally with merchants from Upper Hungary. In the second half of the 16th century, Gorlice have become assets of the Ordway own family, which supported Protestant Reformation.
