About Gora Swietej Anny
Gora Swietej Anny is an inselberg in Upper Silesia, Poland, by the network of a similar name. It is the area of the Franciscan cloister with the marvelous statue of St. Anne and the impressive Calvary, which is a significant goal for Roman Catholic journey. It has been a key area imperative to both German and Polish patriots, and in 1921 it was the site of the Battle of Annenberg, celebrated in the Third Reich by the development of a Thingstatte and a tomb. The auditorium remains, yet the Nazi catacomb was obliterated and supplanted with a landmark to the individuals who participated in the Third Silesian Uprising.
The slope was an agnostic holy place in pre Christian occasions. It was earlier known as the Chelmberg around 1100 a wooden church to St. George was based on the slope and it wound up known as the George berg. In 1516 the honorable group of von Gaschin, who had moved to Silesia from Poland in the mid 15th century, raised a congregation devoted to St. Anne on the Chelmberg. The slope turned into a famous journey goal, particularly after the gift in 1560 of a wooden statue of St. Anne, containing relics, which is still in the congregation today.
