About Glucholazy
Glucholazy is a town in southwestern Poland with roughly 13,780 occupants 2016. It is situated inside the Nyssa County of Opole Voivodeship, close to the fringe with the Czech Republic, and is the authoritative seat of Gmina Glucholazy. Glucholazy has inclining arms the shield includes a goat's head in reference to its previous German name, Ziegenhals, which actually implies goat's neck. The old Polish name for the town is Cygenhals. The settlement in the Episcopal Duchy of Nyssa was built up around 1220 by German pilgrims who were called by the decision Bishop Lawrence of Wroclaw to develop a fortress against the compromising powers of the Premyslid margrave Vladislaus III of Moravia, sibling of King Ottokar I of Bohemia.
The spot before long turned into a significant site of iron metal and gold mining kept running by the Thurzo and Fugger families it had gotten town benefits as of now in 1263. The town was crushed in 1428 amid the Hussite Wars. After the First Silesian War and the 1742 Treaty of Breslau the Duchy of Nyssa was divided and Glucholazy turned into a Prussian border town, while the nearby zone around Zlate Hory stayed with Austrian Silesia.
