Since 1999 it's been located within the Podkarpackie Voivodeship; it had formerly been in the Tarnow Voivodeship. Debica belongs to the historic province of Lesser Poland, and for centuries it became a part of the Sandomierz Voivodeship. According to the 2006 data, Debica's area is 33.81 square kilometres.
Arable land makes 42% of the place of the city, whilst forests make 19%. Debica is the seat of the county, and the town covers 4.34% of the county's place. Debica lies at the border of geographical areas of Poland - the Carpathian Piedmont in southern districts of the metropolis, and the Sandomierz Basin in its north, along the Wisloka river. Since the mid-1930s Debica, despite its size, has been a big industrial hub. A number of businesses had been then created way to governmental industry development applications.
