About Cmielow
Cmielow is a town in Ostrowiec County, Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland, seat of Gmina Cmielow. It has 3,222 inhabitants. It is known for one in all Poland's oldest porcelain factories courting again to 1790. The town history dates again to 14th century. It has several visitor sights, similarly to its vintage porcelain manufacturing unit, such as ruins of a 16th century fortress and a church from the equal duration. Cmielow belongs to Lesser Poland, and lies at the Kamienna river in the Sandomierz Upland, 10 kilometers east of Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, along local road nr. 755.
First point out of the village comes from the 14th century. In 1388, brothers Marcin and Mikolaj from Baruchow offered the village and the citadel to knight Gniewosz of Dalewice. In 1425 Cmielow become sold through Jan of Podlodow, then the village changed into acquired by way of the noble Szydlowiecki family. Both villages were merged in 1505, while in Radom, King Alexander granted city charter to the city of Cmielow. The new city remained in the arms of the Szydlowiecki own family, which turned it into one in every of their residences.
