About Chelmza
Chelmza is a metropolis in Torun County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The first signs of settlement date to 10,000 BC while reindeer hunters made their visits to the place. Around 4500 BC the first agricultural settlements have been based. Goth tribes also moved through the location on their trek from Scandinavia and North Germany. Visible symptoms of lifestyles of the Old Prussians additionally exist. Around the 7th century Slavs arrived within the place.
In the time of first Piasts and the formation of Poland, Ziemia Chełminska and the agreement of Loza was incorporated into Chełminska castellany. After the death of Bolesław III Wrymouth in 1138 it became passed over to his son Boleslaw IV the Curly – as part of Masovia. The fights with nearby Old Prussian tribes resulted in several raids that destroyed the place. In the 13th century the ruler of the area became Konrad I who on the way to Christianize the Old Prussians delivered a missionary Christian bishop.
