About Bielsk Podlaski
Bielsk Podlaski is a town in Bielsk County, Podlaskie Voivodeship. It is positioned north-japanese Poland, in the ancient place of Podlachia. Bielsk Podlaski has a long and rich history, dating again to the 12th century, while this location of Poland belonged to Kievan Rus'. The gord of Bielsk turned into possibly based by Ruthenian dukes, and its lifestyles became first mentioned in 1253, inside the so-called Hypatian Codex. In 1273, Bielsk turned into captured through Lithuanian duke Traidenis, and in the early 14th century, whole province of Podlasie have become annexed by using the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
The region turned into challenge to Teutonic Knights raids, which came about in 1346 and 1379. In 1382, Mazovian Duke Janusz I of Warsaw captured Bielsk, Drohiczyn, Suraz and Mielnik, taking advantage of the Lithuanian Civil War. Next year, Jogaila pushed the Mazovians out of Bielsko, handing the gord over to Vytautas. Due to its handy area alongside a merchant direction from Krakow to Vilnius, Bielsk became an important middle of alternate and administration. In 1430, Duke Vytautas named first vogt of Bielsko, a person named Andrzej. A number of Poles from Mazovia start to settle in Podlasie.
