About Belweder

Belweder is a palace in Warsaw, near the Lazienki Park. It was used as an official residence by the Polish presidents. The present building is the most recent of a few that remained on the site since 1660. Belweder once had a place with Poland's last lord, Stanislaw August Poniatowski, who utilized it as a porcelain-fabricating plant. From 1818 it was the living arrangement of Russian Grand Duke Constantine, who fled it toward the start of the November 1830 Uprising. After the re-foundation of Poland's freedom following World War I, it was with a rest, 1922– 26 the home of Marshal Jozef Pisudski, Chief of State 1918– 22 and later 1926– 35 Minister of Military Affairs of Poland, who passed on there in 1935.

Amid World War II, the building was broadly rebuilt for Hans Frank, Governor of the "General Government" of Poland. It stays one of only a handful couple of unique structures in Warsaw to survive World War II. Belweder is typically utilized by the President and the legislature for formal purposes, while the President lives at the "Presidential Palace" in the downtown area. It likewise fills in as an official living arrangement for heads of state on official visits to Poland and other vital visitors. There have been plans to transform the Belweder Palace into an exhibition hall devoted to Jozef Pisudski. Presently it houses a little display committed to the Marshal.
