About Archaeological Museum
The Archeological Museum in Krakow is the most seasoned archeological foundation in Poland, working since 1850. It can be found on the edge of ul. Poselska and Senacka in the St. Michael complex.
From the ninth to the thirteenth hundreds of years through this region went wood-and-earth strongholds of the town of Okó, while from the fourteenth century a stone protective divider encompassed the city.
Relics of that stronghold are safeguarded in the basements of the historical center. From the seventeenth century a housing complex remained here having a place with the Discalced Carmelites, and later, amid the segments, it was adjusted into a jail by the Austrian specialists.
The gallery's accumulations incorporate around 500,000 shows, which were revealed amid archeological unearthings and gave by pioneers and authorities.
