Lake Venado
About Lake Venado
Lake Venado is an endorheic lake situated at the foot of Mount Apo in the territory of North Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines. It is the second most astounding lake in the nation after Bulalacao Lake of Mount Tabayoc. The name of the lake originates from the Spanish word venado, "deer," attributable to the deer-like state of the lake.
Nonetheless, the general population living in the zone called the lake Linaw, a Cebuano word for "clear", since its perfectly clear waters mirror the pinnacle of Mount Apo. Neighborhood clans trust the lake to be charmed, possessed by spirits.
The region of the lake is a well known campground for mountain climbers in transit to and descending from the pinnacle of Mount Apo, the Philippines' most elevated mountain. In 2007, a Filipino mountain dweller slipping from the summit suffocated in the lake.
