Bislig

Bislig, officially the City of Bislig and often called Bislig City, is a 3rd class town inside the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 94 ,535 human beings. It is the most populous most of the towns and municipalities in the province of Surigao del Sur. Barangay Mangagoy, the downtown vicinity frequently dubbed by way of its citizens as the little city in the town is the center of change and enterprise of Bislig which has a population of 32,464 as of the 2015 estimate.

It is the most important barangay inside the metropolis in phrases of population and land vicinity. Since Brgy. Poblacion is regularly referred by the locals truly as 'Bislig', Mangagoy on the other hand is often unsuitable as a separate town though it's miles simplest just one out of the 24 barangays that accommodates the entire City of Bislig. The first inhabitants of Bislig have been believed to have come from the Agusan Valley in the hinterlands of Mindanao beyond the Magdiwata Mountains. These human beings used spears, bows and arrows and lived a semi-nomadic life and have been known as Manobos.
