Sandar Church is the oldest church in Sandefjord, Norway. The church becomes erected on the ruins of a Middle Age stone church from the thirteenth century. The present day church was constructed in 1792 within the fashion of Louis XV of France. Sandar Church initially had a 1/2-circle dome top, but the roofing turned into modified to the cutting-edge spire in 1868. Sandar Church changed into first stated in a written report in 1345. This Medieval church was later replaced with the contemporary church, which became constructed among 1790-1792. The new church became inaugurated via bishop Christen Schmidt and was named Friedrich Church in honor of King Frederick VI.
Outside is a sculpture depicting priest and poet Magnus Brostrup Landstad. Sandar Church became first noted in a written file in 1345. This Medieval church changed into later replaced with the cutting-edge church, which was built between 1790-1792. It became the primary church of Sandeherred municipality, later called Sandar. After the merge of 1968, Sandar Church have become identified as a Sandefjord city church. It is positioned inside the town centre, simply 300 meters from Sandefjord Church.
