About Saltdal
Saltdal is a municipality in Salten in Nordland. The municipality was established on January 1, 1838 as a result of the Presidency legal guidelines, and largely encompasses what previously constituted Saltdal parish. With the exception of a small border regulation in 1949, whilst a small a part of Skjerstad was incorporated in Saltdal, the municipality's obstacles have remained unchanged considering the fact that its established order. Saltdal is likewise the name of the valley that most of the people of the population stay in.
The valley starts off evolved within the north from the lowest of the Skjerstad Fjord, which in here is called the Saltdalsfjord, and extends south in the direction of Saltfjellet. The valley is huge with heavy pine bushes. It is cultivated land with farms in a row up the whole valley. The municipality middle is positioned on Rognan, and the population should otherwise be bouncing up alongside the valley floor, there also are some different valleys throughout the principle valley, wherein the Junkerdalen is the most famous, and some mountain farms with agreement. The municipality borders Rana inside the south, Fauske within the north, Bodo and Beiarn within the west, and the Swedish municipality Arjeplog in the east.
