About Heddal Bygdetun
Heddal Open Air Museum is an open-air museum placed inside the village of Heddal at Notodden in Telemark, Norway. Heddal Open Air Museum is located near the historic Heddal stave church. Heddal Museum has various buildings representative of the history of local farming dating from the Middle Ages and as much as the Thirties. Fyrileivstugu, a residing room indoors relationship from 1932, turned into transferred to Heddal Museum in 1990.
It became the work of referred to timber carver and rosemaling artist, Olav Fyrileiv who became a Telemark local. In 2010, the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum, that is placed close by at Rjukan in Tinn, took over operational management of Heddal Open Air Museum. Heddal and Notodden Museum Society retained ownership of the buildings and collections. The museum may be visited from June 15 via August 15 each summer season.
