About Hasseloy
Hasseloy is an island in Haugesund municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The zero.Three-rectangular-kilometre island lies north of the island Risoy, south of the peninsula Killingoy, and among Vibrandsoy to the west and the mainland to the east. It is a part of the city of Haugesund, connected to the city centre via a bridge. The informal name Bakaroy is commonly used locally. Historically, the island become the website online of industries consisting of the shipyard Hauges Jernskibsbyggeri from 1907.
Since then the island is mostly residential and several condominium homes have changed the antique boathouses. The 2014 populace is 997. The places of work for the western place of the Norwegian Coastal Administration are in the southwest nook of the island. The small Dokken museum with ancient boats and homes is positioned on the east facet, near the bridge. The island has been related to the mainland given that 1872, the present day bridge become finished in 1954.
