About Halden
Halden, between 1665 and 1928 referred to as Frederikshald, is each a city and a municipality in stfold county, Norway. The municipality borders Sarpsborg to the northwest, Rakkestad to the north and Aremark to the east, in addition to the Swedish municipalities Stromstad, Tanum and Dals-Ed respectively to the southwest, south and southeast. The seat of the municipality, Halden is a border metropolis located on the mouth of the Tista river at the Iddefjord, the southernmost border crossing among Norway and Sweden. The town of Halden is placed approximately one hundred twenty km south of Oslo, 190 km north of Gothenburg, and 12 km east of the border crossing at Svinesund.
Halden is surrounded by using forests and water so hiking and fishing locations can easily be located. Deer and elk are a common sight, and wolves have additionally been determined inside the district alongside the border with Sweden. Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, wild cranberries, and lots of forms of mushroom can be found inside the woods within the early autumn. Popular destinations for hikers and other nature fanatics consist of Prestebakke and Kornsj. Halden's meteorological station is at Buer.
