The citadel changed into built on a hill on the east facet of Glomma as one among several military facilities within the location. The fortress became first of all installed by Field Marshal Gustav Wilhelm Wedel Jarlsberg, Count of Wedel Jarlsberg in 1683.
A tower with a cellar powder mag turned into a number of the first buildings at this Norwegian citadel.
