About Brusdalsvatnet
Brusdalsvatnet is a lake on Uksenoya in the regions of Ålesund and Skodje in More og Romsdal. It has a territory of 7.52 km² and is 26 meters above ocean level. The lake has a volume of 300 million m 3. The Brusdalsvatnet has lapsed through Spjelkavikelva , which streams from the west end of the lake down to the Åsefjord . The lake together with Spjelkavikelva is the biggest conduit in Ålesund district. The water in the lake has a hypothetical turnover time of eight years. The lake is the biggest on Sunnmore. E136/E39 comes the lake. The lake is a drinking water hotspot for Alesund since 1980. The water is pumped from the lake to a distribution center inside Emblemsfjellet. In 2009 , large amounts of ecologically poisonous brominated fire retardants HBCDD were found in the base slime. After the Ålesund region and NIVA reports, this does not influence the water nature of the drinking water.
