About Alesund Church
Alesund Church is an area church in Alesund Municipality in More og Romsdal region, Norway. It is situated in the focal point of the town of Alesund, on the island of Aspoya. The congregation is a piece of the Alesund area in the Nordre Sunnmore deanery in the Diocese of More. The expansive stone church was worked in 1909 by the modeler Sverre Knudsen. The congregation situates around 800 individuals. The principal church that was fabricated where Alesund Church lies today, was composed by Heinrich Schirmer and developed in 1854. This congregation was harmed in the Town Fire in 1904, despite the fact that it was worked in the block.
The present Alesund Church was composed by Sverre Knudsen, and the principal stone was set around King Haakon the seventh in July 1906. The congregation was introduced in 1909, the frescoes and excellent recolored glass windows were made by Martin Enevold Thomt and Odd Straume, and the glass peak windows behind the organ were a blessing from the German Kaiser Wilhelm II. The textual style is produced using Italian marble, and the congregation has got three chimes of different sizes. The organ has 64 tunes, and is one of the biggest in Norway.
