About Gidan Makama Museum Kano

Gidan Makama Museum Kano or Kano Museum is an exhibition hall in Kano, Nigeria. This building filled in as impermanent castle of Kano before the present royal residence Gidan Rumfa was built in the fifteenth century. The exhibition hall has a noteworthy accumulations of expressions, artworks and things of notable intrigue identified with the Kano territory. Situated in a fifteenth century chronicled assembling, which is perceived as a National Monument by the Government of Nigeria.
The gallery is partitioned into 11 displays, each with their own focal point of core interest. Exhibitions incorporate the Zaure or the fundamental passage lobby with presentations of customary materials, city dividers and maps of Kano, the historical backdrop of statehood, Kano in the nineteenth century, the Civil War, economy, industry and music.
The museum is situated on Emir Palace street and it is separated into 11 exhibitions with each containing a few parts of customary Kanawa antiques, pictures, melodic instruments, workmanship and materials. The displays are the rooms and yards of the old Makamas and portrays the style of a conventional habitation of a Kano noble. The passage of the doors showed some chronicled pots accepted to have been uncovered at Kofar Kabuga, an entryway inside the Kano city divider and furthermore two frontier guns. The building has 11 galleries.
