Richmond

Richmond is a town of New Zealand. It is the seat of the Tasman District Council which lies 13 km away from south of Nelson in the South Island of New Zealand. It close to the southern extremity of Tasman Bay.

Richmond was first settled in 1842 and it was named in 1854 after the town of Richmond on Thames near London. Richmond lies outside the limits of Nelson City and it shapes some portion of the Nelson Urban Area for factual purposes and is casually considered as a major aspect of Greater Nelson.
