About Rakiura

The Rakiura Track is a 32-kilometre circular tramping tune in Rakiura National Park on Stewart Island in New Zealand. It is one of the New Zealand Great Walks. Hikers often take three days to walk it, but it can be completed in a single or days. One prevent is at Lee Bay, five km north of Oban, and the possibility prevent is at Fern Gully, 2 km west of Oban. It may be walked both manner, but is most often walked anticlockwise, starting at Lee Bay. Hikers can set up delivery from Oban over the roads to and from the ends of the track, or can walk alongside the roads.

The tune usually follows the shoreline for a massive part of its duration, passing small inlets, big bays and mudflats, and crosses steep hills protected in bush in its center phase. Large sections of the music had been gravelled. Without this, a bargain of the music might degrade into dust, due to the peaty soil, and the rain that falls often at a few level inside the 12 months.
