About Pah Homestead
The Pah Homestead is a ancient home positioned within the suburb of Hillsborough in Auckland, New Zealand. It is owned by the Auckland Council, and is currently used as an art gallery, housing the James Wallace Art Trust's series of New Zealand artwork. Since establishing in August 2010, the gallery has attracted over 410,000 visitors, along with 130,000 in its first 12 months. The homestead was built among 1877 and 1879 as Auckland businessman James Williamson's gentleman's residence by Thomas Mahoney, and was certainly one of the largest and greatest houses in Auckland at that time.
Of plastered brick within the Italianate fashion, it's miles based totally on Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's Osborne House inside the Isle of Wight. The tree-covered power to Pah Road remains largely intact, despite the fact that parts of it now run thru personal houses adjoining the proposed park. The grounds consist of some of the greatest distinct bushes in Auckland, and there are perspectives to the Manukau Harbour and to One Tree Hill.
