Northland

The Northland Region is the northernmost of New Zealand's 16 local authorities areas. New Zealanders often name it the Far North or, due to its moderate weather, the Winterless North. The fundamental populace centre is the town of Whangarei, and the most important town is Kerikeri. The Northland Region occupies the northern 80% of the 330 km Northland Peninsula, the southernmost a part of which is within the Auckland Region.

Stretching from a line at which the peninsula narrows to a width of simply 15 km a little north of the metropolis of Wellsford, Northland Region extends north to the end of the Northland Peninsula, masking an area of thirteen,940 km2, a little over five in step with cent of the us of a's general location. It is bounded to the west through the Tasman Sea, and to the east by the Pacific Ocean. The land is predominantly rolling hill country.
