Zypendaal

Zypendaal or Zijpendaal is a country house located in the Park Zypendaal estate on the north side of the city of Arnhem, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. House Zypendaal was spread out by the Arnhem official family Brantsen as a latrine around 1762-1764. This family possessed this house until 1926. It was based on a similar spot where the old house Zypendaal stood. In 1883-1884 the house was revamped and fitted with a pinnacle. At the front a vestibule , a balustrade on the rooftop, and galleries were included. In 1900, the Rode Salon was acknowledged in another expansion.

After the Battle of Arnhem, the house is set up as a healing facility for injured German fighters. In 1975 the Geldersche Kasteelen Foundation gained the house in long haul ground lease from the district of Arnhem, on condition that it would get a social goal. The house has been re-established and on the upper floors is presently the head office of the Foundation Geldersch Landschap and the Foundation Friends of Geldersche Kasteelen, who cooperate under the name Geldersch Landscape and Castle. The primary floor is composed as an exhibition hall with objects of the first substance including the family representations of the Brantsen family and the 'Male of the Zyp', a statue of a kid with a drinking can.
