About Woudenberg
Woudenberg is a municipality inside the Dutch province of Utrecht. The municipality has 13,a hundred sixty five population and has an area of 36.72 km². There aren't any different villages in the municipal barriers, however part of the hamlet of Moorst. In 1131 the bishop of Utrecht on the St. Laurensabdij in Oostbroek donated the Hengistcoto area. The call Henschoten can be observed right here, which remains used for a woodland area and the leisure lake therein. At the heart of Hengistcoto, the monks of the abbey constructed a farm with partitions.
This changed into at the present day intersection of the roads from Austerlitz to Woudenberg and Doorn to Amersfoort. This intersection is popularly known as Quatre-Bras, after the eponymous restaurant that was located there for a long time. Here is also the hill wherein the Pyramid of Austerlitz was erected in 1804. In 1133 the bishop sold around 500 hectares of swampy land to the east of Henschoten within the Westerwoud to the equal abbey and 3 private people. After 1240, the middle of Woudenberg arises within the middle of this place.
