About Von Gimborn Arboretum

Von Gimborn Arboretum is a huge dwelling series of woody flora within the Netherlands.The arboretum is located in Doorn, province of Utrecht, approximately 25 km to the east from the metropolis of Utrecht, and together with its nursery currently occupies a place of 27 ha. It is known as after its founder, German ink producer Max Th. Von Gimborn 1872–1964, which started it in 1924 as a non-public collection of conifers and ericaceous flora. The series was laid down as a 23 ha landscape lawn designed by Gerard Bleeker.

It is still one of the largest conifer collections in Western Europe, even though now it incorporates many different timber and shrubs as properly. It holds countrywide plant collections of conifers mainly Tsuga, Ericaceae and Rhododendron specifically, Aceraceae, Betulaceae, Euonymus, Fraxinus, Laburnum, Magnolia and Syringa. A quantity of cultivars of woody plants originate there. The arboretum is open to the general public each day for a small rate.
