The Roman Catholic Cathedral Church of St. John of 's-Hertogenbosch, North Brabant is the height of gothic structure inside the Netherlands. It has an intensive and richly embellished indoors, and serves as the cathedral for the bishopric of 's-Hertogenbosch. The cathedral has a total duration of 115 metres and a width of 62 metres. Its tower reaches seventy three metres excessive; the biggest catholic church inside the Netherlands. Originally, the cathedral was built as a parish church and turned into dedicated to St. John Evangelist.
In 1366 it became a collegiate church, and in 1559 it have become the cathedral of the new diocese of 's-Hertogenbosch. A Romanesque church used to face on the spot where the St. John now resides. Its production is idea to have started in 1220 and turned into finished in 1340. Around 1340, building commenced to extend the church, from which its modern-day gothic style got here. The transept and choir have been finished in 1450. In 1505, the romanesque church became largely demolished, leaving simplest its tower. Construction of the gothic St. John turned into completed about the year 1525.
