About Rijksmuseum Van Oudheden
The Rijksmuseum van Oudheden English: National Museum of Antiquities is the national archeological historical center of the Netherlands. The Museum became out of the gathering of Leiden University and still nearly co-works with its Faculty of Archeology. The historical center calls itself the national place for paleohistory, and centers around antiquated Egypt, the old Near East, the established universe of Greece, Etruria and Rome and the early ancient, Roman and Medieval Netherlands. The organization which was at first called the "Exhibition hall Japonicum". It was the main exhibition hall in Europe which was intended to show that gathering the ancient rarities of man could mean more than the simple aggregation of interests.
The collection of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden started with a legacy in 1743. After the passing of Gerard van Papenbroek, an individual from the city tip top in Amsterdam, a representative and a burgomaster of the city, his accumulation was gave to Leiden University. The endowment involved around 150 artifacts and was distributed in 1746 by an educator of the college. It was put on open show, however ineffectively dealt with until 50 years after the fact it would at last get an official custodian. This custodian was classicist dr. Caspar Reuvens, the world's first archaic exploration teacher. Alongside his obligations as a teacher at the college came the care of the archeological bureau, at that point comprising primarily of the Papenbroek legacy.
