Museum Mesdag

It might be the best-known painting of the popular Dutch painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag: Panorama Mesdag. As Rembrandt is related with Amsterdam and Vermeer with Delft, so Mesdag is related to The Hague. Mesdag was conceived in Groningen in 1831 and later moved to The Hague with his significant other Sientje.

Mesdag for the most part painted ocean sees and invested a great deal of energy in Scheveningen. Mesdag gathered numerous artistic creations over the span of his life, which today are in plain view in The Mesdag Collection exhibition hall.
