About Martinitoren

The Martinitoren is the most elevated church steeple in the city of Groningen, Netherlands and the chime tower of the Martinikerk. The pinnacle is situated at the north-eastern corner of the Grote Markt Main Market Square. It contains a block winding staircase comprising of 260 stages, and the chimes inside the pinnacle contains 62 ringers. The pinnacle is viewed as one of the primary vacation destinations of Groningen and offers a view over the city and encompassing territory.

The front of the pinnacle demonstrates three pictures over the passage, the visually impaired artist Bernlef, Saint Martinus and Rudolf Agricola. Each of the three are men, that are connected to the historical backdrop of Groningen. The pinnacle is tilting around 0.6 m, as per report the pinnacle has an establishment of just three meters down. The natives of Groningen call their pinnacle d'Olle Grieze, which means the old dark one in the neighborhood tongue.
