Geertruidenberg is a city and municipality in the province North Brabant within the south of the Netherlands. The town, named after Saint Gertrude of Nivelles, received town rights in 1213 from the depend of Holland. The fortified metropolis prospered until the 15th century. Today, the municipality of Geertruidenberg additionally includes the population centres Raamsdonk and Raamsdonksveer. The municipality has a complete area of 29.64 km2 and had a population of 21,529 in 2017.
