Emmen

Emmen is a municipality and town of the province Drenthe within the northeastern Netherlands. A high instance of a deliberate city, Emmen arose from several small farming and peat-harvesting groups that have dotted the province of Drenthe because the Middle Ages. Traces of these communities can nonetheless be seen within the shape of the villages of Westenesch, Noordbarge and Zuidbarge: they have got a separate history and layout, however are surrounded by the suburbs and the centre of Emmen.
