About Duizel
Duizel is municipality of Eersel, province of North Brabant and is positioned in the Kempen region. Duizel is also one of the eight beatitudes, a name for 8 villages inside the Kempen. The patronage law of the parish traditionally belonged to the Bartolomeüs bankruptcy in Liege. From the end of the seventeenth century it belonged to the Abbey of Tongerlo.
From 1648 to 1827 the parish changed into served with the aid of the Abbey of Postel. The church have become Protestant in 1648, however a while afterwards the Catholics moved into a barn church on Groenstraat. In 1798 they got their church again, but in 1800 a part of the tower collapsed on the church that changed into destroyed in the sort of manner that until 1822 the Catholics needed to use their barn church again. In Duizel there was a castle on Groenstraat that was inhabited around 1460 via Hendrik van Eyck. Around 1900 there has been still a white-stucco antique residence of this castle, however the canals were stuffed in by the then occupant, Jacobus van Dooren. The antique house has disappeared.
