Doorwerth Castle is a medieval castle situated on the river Rhine near the city of Arnhem, Netherlands. The first stronghold, most likely wooden, is first said in 1260 when it was assaulted and consumed to the ground, after which it was remade in stone. In 1280, this second stronghold was again blockaded and this time the bailey was burned to the ground. This manor likely comprised of a straightforward lobby keep, two stories high with 1.20 meter thick dividers, and included an encompassing channel which was encouraged by the close-by waterway Rhine. Amid the fourteenth century the mansion was ceaselessly augmented.
Doorwerth Castle was initially the property of the Van Dorenweerd family. Consequently Robert was allowed the stronghold and its property in fief. Around the center of the fifteenth century the chateau was developed once more, this time by knight Reinald van Homoet, the tenth Lord of Dorenweerd, who was additionally the proprietor of Doornenburg Castle.
