About Botlek
The Botlek is a port and commercial location in Rotterdam, located west of the Oude Maas between the Scheur and the A15. The northwestern part of the place is on the previous island of Rozenburg; the southeastern part is placed on what was once the Welplaat. The vicinity is named after the Botlek, a part of the Nieuwe Maas. According to the Dictionary of the Dutch Language, the name Botlek refers to a leak in the trench of the Meuse in which a lot bone was caught; within the Van der Aa Geography Dictionary,
the Botlek is a terrific outer bark at the west aspect of the previous island of Welplaat. This former a part of the Nieuwe Maas owes its call alternate to this bunt among 1850 and 1875. The vintage watercourse has at least merged into the significant channel of the Botlek place and continues to be referred to as Botlek. The Botlek place is specifically characterized by way of petrochemical industry and tank storage agencies, and the garage of dry bulk items.
