About Begnas Lake

Begnas Lake is a freshwater lake in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolis of Kaski district of Nepal placed in the south-east of the Pokhara Valley. The lake is the largest lake of Nepal and 2nd biggest, after Phewa lake, some of the 8 lakes in Pokhara Valley. Water stage in the lake fluctuates seasonally because of rain, and utilization for irrigation. The water level is regulated via a dam built in 1988 on the western outlet move, Khudi Khola.
Begnas Lake location with a number of motels is a famous vacation spot for travelers visiting Pokhara. The water from the lake is used for irrigation and some parts of the lake are used as caged fisheries.
