About Tintenpalast
The Tintenpalast is the seat of each chambers of the Parliament of Namibia, the National Council and the National Assembly. It is positioned in the Namibian capital of Windhoek. The Tintenpalast, that's located simply north of Robert Mugabe Avenue, changed into designed via German architect Gottlieb Redecker with Neoclassical the front façade and constructed by using the company Sander & Kock among 1912 and 1913 out of regional materials as an administration building for the German government, which colonized Namibia at the time.
The constructing assignment used pressured labour by using Herero and Nama folks who, having survived the Herero and Namaqua genocide, were positioned in attention camps. The building became opened on 12 April 1913. As an allusion to the massive ink usage through the workers in the constructing, it became named "Tintenpalast" or "Ink Palace". When Namibia executed its independence in 1990, the Tintenpalast became the seat of the National Assembly.
