About Khorixas
Khorixas is a town of 6,000 inhabitants in southern Kunene Region, Namibia. It became the capital of the Damaraland bantustan earlier than Namibia's independence. It is the executive capital of Khorixas Constituency. Most of the inhabitants are from the Damara ethnic organization. The town is positioned near to an important deposit of petrified wood and the Twyfelfontein valley, recognised for its rock art. The nearby clinic and a few other regional workplaces are nonetheless located in Khorixas, even though the capital of Kunene Region is Opuwo. There are six schools and one branch of University of Namibia UNAM in Khorixas, Versteendewoud is the most important number one school and Cornelius Goreseb High School is the biggest secondary faculty.
Other faculties are: Eddie Bowe Primary School, Welwitchia Primary School, Welwitchia Junior Secondary School and Th. F. ǃGaeb Primary School. Khorixas suffers from a lack of economic improvement and employment opportunities, which results in frustration and outward migration among many of the metropolis's youth. The unemployment fee on the town is predicted to be around 70%. Donkerhoek, the metropolis's casual agreement, has neither water nor energy.
