Hardap
About Hardap
Hardap is one of the fourteen areas of Namibia, its capital is Mariental. It is domestic to the Hardap Dam. Hardap stretches the whole width of Namibia, from the Atlantic Ocean within the west to Namibia's japanese country wide border. In the northeast, it borders the Kgalagadi District of Botswana, and inside the southeast, it borders the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The Governor of Hardap Region is Esme Sophia Isaack, succeeding Katrina Hanse-Himarwa in 2015. In February 2009, Hanse-Himarwa became condemned with the aid of the National Society for Human Rights of Namibia for asserting Hardap Region "SWAPO territory" and urging supporters not to permit different political events to "invade" the location.
In the 2004 Presidential election, the area supported Hifikepunye Pohamba of SWAPO with a slender majority of the votes, following through Ben Ulenga of Congress of Democrats and Katuutire Kaura of the Democratic Turnhalle Allianc. Four different candidates blended for the 10 percent.
