Erongo

Erongo is one of the 14 regions of Namibia. The capital is Swakopmund. The region contains the Swakopmund magisterial district as much as the Ugab River and includes the Walvis Bay, Omaruru and Karibib magisterial districts. This area is named after Mount Erongo, a well-known landmark in Namibia and on this vicinity. All the main centres inside this region are linked by means of paved roads. The Governor of Erongo Region is Cleophas Mutjavikua. In the west, Erongo has a shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean. Various mining operations arise inside this area at places inclusive of Navachab and on a smaller scale at locations surrounding Uis and the wilderness location.

Karibib also has a marble enterprise. Walvis Bay, fully integrated into the Erongo Region in 1994, is the essential domestic of Namibia's fishing industry. Walvis Bay also boasts the only deep sea port and is the second biggest town within the country. Swakopmund and Langstrand are famous seashore inns; Arandis helps mining enterprise and Swakopmund boasts production.
